Job description: Canter Inn is a new neighborhood fine dining restaurant in the heart of downtown New Glarus, WI where owners and chefs Jon Nodler and Sam Kincaid bring their years of experience working in restaurants in the Midwest and the East Coast. Their goal is to provide a destination worthy experience to the growing community of New Glarus.

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a detail-oriented kitchen environment, a desire to learn, and possess a strong basis of understanding in food preparation and safety. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards

  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area

  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines

  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service

  • Maintain proper food handling techniques throughout all stages of meal preparation

Skills

  • Proven experience in a line cook or similar role within the food industry

  • Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on cooking techniques and knife skills

  • Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred but not required

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling

  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality standards under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
